The Turbo Chassis School's Dave Zientara makes it to the finals.
Dave's old car was pulled from a museum in Michigan and dusted off to get ready for a Nostalgia event in St Louis this past weekend. Dave was on the way to a perfect race when a ignition issue caused him to not be able to make it to the line for the final round.
Congrats to Dave go out on 2 fronts. He was crewing 2 cars and driving one for this weekends event. The second car in the pics is a car Dave built in his chassis shop in MO. First pass off the trailer the car set the mph record for the class and was not far off the et record.
Check out the pics below.
Dave Zientara’s ‘23 T is a classic example of the original Competition Coupe and Roadsters classification which disappeared from rulebooks after the 1971 season. Originally created for modified machines production bodies, a loophole which failed to limit the wheelbase eventually created a division of dragsters with bodies hung off the back almost as an afterthought. Using an original steel Ford body, chassis builder Zientara’s rig accurately represents the heyday of the class, (in this case, B/Comp), in the mid-1960s.

Those were some crazy cars to watch back in the late 60's.
But 99% of you guy's won't know much about that. LOL

Yes, I used to go to Conneticut Dragway every now and then in the mid to late 60. I was only in my early-mid teens then. I had older friends that would take me.

I had seen some pictures of it on the local forum, good stuff for sure.
Kinda wish this was not on the holiday weekend so I could have made it to spectate.
