Default Transmission problems

I have a ls/vtec turbo setup with ls trans and gsr final drive. The tranny feels really notchy when your just sitting there with the clutch pushed it and you go threw the gears and it also feels the same way when you drive it. It mainly feels really notchy from 1st to 2nd. the fluid thats in there right now is royal purle synchromesh. when your driving the car you have to come to a complete stop to get the car to go into first. What would cause the tranny to be notchy like that? it almost feels like its harder to shift than normal. The clutch is fine. theres no grinds at all in the trans from 1500 rpms all the way to 10000 rpm. Would it be notchy if the trans fluid was low? or would bent shift linkage cause that? Just tring to figure out whats wrong. Any help would be appriciated.

Both of these can cause what is happening, its a process of elimination.Check the shifter first make sure its not bent, then check the fluid.if its not any one of those then i would say drop the tranny and have a look inside.
Did you break any gears prior to this?
Also:Where you having this problem with the oem fluid?

nah i never had any broken gears. The transmission was freshley rebuilt, ive never had any other fluid in it besides the royal purple stuff. Should i drain that out and put oem in and see how it feels? Should i check the shifter or the linkage? thanks

I use nothing but Honda MTF with stock OEM gears. Maybe the royal purple had something to do with it?

i suggest using gm syncromesh... i had that same problem with everything being notchy one time when i decided to switch from gm syncromesh to the new honda mtf (the new stuff thats like water). back to GM(pennzoil) syncromesh and its awesome! its perfect!

and dont use synthetics in a transmission. that is just silly. trannys have gears, why the need for synthetic? it will make it perform worse. keep synthetic in the motor where there are rod/main bearings, cams, and cylinders, etc etc etc...
