Default TPS Issue

So after running 11.5 index a month ago at the nscra event my car through a check engine light in eliminations and fell on its face putting me in the loser spot very quick... Here a month later i finally got to fixing the issue since painting the car came first. Code 7 (tp sensor) was on so i first thought of just replacing the tp sensor. Got one, took the "faulty one" off and oh hey a spring and retainer popped out. Since the spring retainer inside looks to be pressed on my question is this.... Can i put the spring back on correctly and hold the retainer on and put a quick small weld on it? I dont see why not but was curious to see if anyone has done so. Thanks for any help. Also added was a picture for anyone curious on how to remove a tp sensor. Dremel and flat head screw driver, Get deep enough to where the flat head doesnt strip it out and there ya go. Replace with philips/flat/hex whatever for easy removal next time.

41 views and no reply. Guess no one has had this problem, so thanks to no one blowing my post up with false info. I fixed it and here is the pic. Hopefully it holds up.
