Re: TOYO RA-1 FOR DRAG RACING? (Drag R)
the reason i am asking is becasue i can get a great deal on a set of these tires
i was just hoping that they would be worth it
BTW - the car is making almost 300 whp...
i know bfg drag radials are the best, but they are backordered where i live
i hope they hook up in a straightline

Re: TOYO RA-1 FOR DRAG RACING? (Big Teggie)
They're a roadracing tire meaning the sidewalls are stiff just like the Azenis. What's the pricing. Why not just get Azenis, are those on backorder also?
On another note, I read somewhere that the RA-1 and the Nitto NT555-R are basically the same tire. The differences are the middle part tread design. The outer blocks are very similar. Another difference is that the RA-1 has a stiffer sidewall whereas the NT555-R has a softer sidewall. Both designed for their own specific purpose.

The RA-1's do have a sticky compound so they are going to hook better then your average street radial. However their intended use is for Auto-X/HPDE's and have a damn stiff sidewall from personal expierience. I wouldn't try running these below 22psi. You will probably get same results as azenis. So I would just get these or BFG/Nitto's. Toyo's are kinda $.
