Default steering column mounting

Hey guys I have a question Im trying to finish my car for the fall nationals, I need some ideas on how you guys mounted your steering wheel/column, after you removed your dash. Im looking for ideas on how to mount it with out mounting it to a roll cage, since im not going to install one till after this event. pics would be appreciated.

Im building the car for the hotrod class, on the Ek's the steering wheels mounts to the dash board ( the reinforced steel that goes through it) i can fab something up myself, i was just looking for some ideas. I would hate to run into trouble going 100+ down the track.

btw this is something can do myself so please no comments about bringing it to a shop, cause I've been this far without one. Im not looking to copy anybody just for some ideas. ty

why dont you put the dash back in for the event. or at least, use the support bar the steering colum bolts to.

Check the rule book on this. I seem to remember reading something on it and there's definetly a right and wrong way to go about it.
