Unfortunately not much in the way of updates, still fighting some issues with the transmission, so have yet to make a great pass.. Best so far is 11.1 @ 135mph on 20ish psi and with 2nd gear continuing to lock me out. Once I get that figured out, I can turn it up and make a damn pass lol

Cage work was done by a local shop here in FL http://www.coastchassis.com/
Sounds like you need a new SCHA or shifter forks. If you have the cash the Speed Factory SCHA is your best bet. Get the right spring if you're not using the GForce shifter.

Thanks!

Fogs are OEM for the 96-97 del sol. Very hard to find unfortunately.

Thanks, hopefully have it figured out. Going tomdo some testing tomorrow

Here's a crappy video of the best pass so far. Was just a shakedown after some changes, and the damn thing pulled hardddd to the left at the big end lol. 11.1 @ 134 with a 1.63 60'. Locked out of 2nd, so it fell on its face bad. This was around 20-22psi

Ripped the trans apart the other day, swapped around the 1-2 shift fork, and the scha with another OEM unit. We'll see if it had any effect lol

Wll be running the car tomorrow at the NDIMA race at Orlando Speedworld. Hopefully get a clean pass!

None to report unfortunately Still fighting the same issues. Went through qualifying, still locking out on the 1-2 shift, packed it up and went home lol. Frustrating to say the least, not sure what to do next

I had this same problem with second, this might sound weird but we swapped the diff and it went away. It was the same diff as yours also.

I agree 100% man! Its frustrating to say the least. SO much money invested in good parts, and cant get the damn thing to shift 2nd at high rpms to save my life lol. Works well 2-4th though! lol

Try another oem tranny? Or upgrade to a dogbox?

Dogbox is the logical answer, but unfortunately not in the budget right now. Considering having the OEM gears faceplated, thinking that may solve the issue

Yes. How old is your diff? I would try swapping in a known good diff, if it is the problem Quaife might take care of it, they did with mine.

Good question lol I' not real sure, bought it 2nd hand but I believe it was fairly new.

Just thought maybe it would eliminate synchro's as a potential issue. Kind of at a loss for what to do next. I just want the damn thing to make a pass! lol

Even though it still hasnt ran a number, heres a picture from the event last weekend lol

Face Plating changes everything about shifting. Of course, if there is a problem in the linkage, it will not cure it all, but it does make a huge difference.

Ya, faceplating will let it go in gear 99.9% of the time! The only time it will mis shift is that tiny chance that the corners of the dogs slam each other. Its only happened to me once in 3 years!

So yes, it will most certainly fix your shifting problem.

Haha, yea I was a little unsure how faceplating wouldn't have any effect. I'm thinking that it will be the solution for me. I'd imagine that riding out first gear on limiter at 9500rpms, then trying to bang 2nd gear isnt the easiest thing for a synchro to handle lol.

Thanks for the input!!

Well, finally a positive update on this thread.

After struggling all last year with a 2nd gear lock out issue, I may have finally shook the gremlins. Changed out all the Tilton hydraulic throw out bearing stuff for OEM, and now the car shifts FLAWLESSLY. At IFO Bradenton yesterday I only managed one pass before the trans decided it wanted to shear 2nd in the burnout box. But on the shakedown on 24-25psi managed a new PB lol. For some reason the car bogged real bad off the launch, should have been a mid 10 sec pass (will normally pull a 1.63-1.68 60'). Cant wait to see where this thing will go from here.

I'll post the in car video later

Haha unfortunately =/ dogbox is just a bit out of my price range right now. So I'll just keep rebuilding the OEM stuff in the mean time

Thanks! That was the first FULL pass in the car, with out being locked out of 2nd gear. Goal is to get it to 10.50's on this boost, then crank it up and see if I can squeeze a 9 sec pass out of it this year.

Rear wheels are CCW LM20's
