i was just worried about the d-series gearing with that tall.

what gearing/final drive you run?

but youre right, ill tear these 22's up on the 2nd and go for some 24.5 </TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm running a stock geared si tranny with a lsd. 24.5's going through the traps half way through 4th.

With your power and 23" slicks, You will remain in the 11's. Go with the 24.5x13x8.5 and crack that 10 mark like the rest of us! </TD></TR></TABLE>

went to the import faceoff today with my new 24.5x8x13 MT's.. 60 foot was alot better.. 1.7 instead of the 1.9 with the 22's launching at 6800rpms with not much spinning. it has more left in her but only ran a best of 11.61 ouch.. car weighs 2190 without me. the taller tire fucked my gearing all up thats for sure. have to shift into 4th right at the end. cant hold it in 3rd going through the traps.

There is no way in hell you're making 400whp then, your traps don't match either.

yea i guess not. but next on the list is to get rid of the stock z6 tb and intake.. these 24.5" tires killed my gearing though but helped a ton with traction and did get me a new best time and way more consistent now.... but i have to shift into 4th right at the end.. which final drive do you think would be good?

The problem with Final drives is that it shortens everything, including 1st gear. You're better off shortening 3rd and 4th gear, JDM ZC gears are good for this. It's what I'm running, it's basically stock GSR gearing with a longer final drive.

yea i know.. but launching at 6800rpms with antilag and still not even spinning the tires so i dont think it would hurt... maybe a 4.5 fd ? have 4.250 right now.

where can you get zc gears? i really dont want to get rid of my racerstev treated gears...especially 3rd and 4th lol

Gotta buy a JDM ZC trans (trans that came from the DOHC D16ZC). Then you can send the 4th gear to bone and he'll modify it for you so that it fits, and you can always get those gears treated while you're at it.

I got JFK to use them, he loves them.

if you raise the shift point by 300 or 400 rpm you might be able to finish in the top of third?

8000 rpm is not enough. do you have stock valves and springs? 9-10k is needed to finish in 3rd<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mike93eh2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

im starting to get my breakup problem figured out i believe. its better.

only thing stock on my car is the ignition and my intake/throttlebody (soon to be changed)

i understand finishing in 3rd would be better than having to shift into 4th but really would just want to finish in top of 4th.

what tranny are you running that your finishing in 3rd?

i was running an si tranny, with 23" slicks, redlining at 7400 in 1st, 8k in 2nd, 8k in 3rd, and ending at 7500 in 4th.

anything with longer gears than an si/ex tranny and its KILLING your times.
