Default Shifting problems

EDIT August 6th: We found the problem and the clutch disc disintegrated (sp).We installed a new aftermarket clutch and it drove final until today when he took it to the track, its shifting shitty and missing gears.

Can this be cause by to much tranny fluid?Only a litte spilled out, about as much as one of those red cups you use at partys.Well my friend put another half a quart into the tranny when only maybe half a cup spilled out.

What brand clutch??...alot of clutch manufacters have a max/min height on the step of the flywheel...if the step is too big it can cause the clutch to no dis-engage all the way...causing it to not want to go in gear

It was a stock disc from a local shop.We took the worn disc there and they turned it into a new disc so basically a re-man disc.

did you try adjusting your clutch cable?
did you have any mishifts?
you might have broken your pressure plate, the symptoms you are describing are for a broken pressure plate! hey can you send me a picture of your hy tech header in the crx, i have a crx and would like to see how it looks!

Yea i adjusted the clutch cable and it only helped a little bit,its still hard to get into gear kinda like im not even stepping on the clutch pedal.Naw he mishifted twice and that was because it was hard to go into gear and not the result of mishifting.

I dont have a hytech header,i got a header tech though and its not my crx,its my friends thats having a problem.

Here is an update, when you slightly push down on the clutch pedal it has alot of vibration. Then when you step on it all the way down there's no sound, but when you sep on it and put it into gear it makes alot of chattering sounds.

i had the pressure plate break on my clutch too. The step in my flywheel was not high enough. When we resufaced the flywheel, we just grinded the surface the clutch rides on, not the outer ring. Mistake!! the step needs to be .116"(double check that it was awile) on an cable trans. My car acted exactly the same as you are describing the way yours is.

Well i we found out the problem. When i started to remove the tranny you can see huge chunks of the clutch. Then when I got everything off,the side of the clutch that faces the pressure plate was completely gone except for a couple of peices stuck between the plate and the clutch, asically metal to metal.

When we were driving home from the track my friend said his clutch pedal got about 1-2" higher probably because the pad was gone and there was a gap between the disc and the PP so the pedal moved up.
