Has anyone used the upgraded shift changer that speed factory offers. I am having trans issues and was wondering if the upgrade would be a good place to start. Thanks

 

what issues are u having?

 

Im running it as well as about 5 other cars in my shop.

Its a very nice piece and holding up perfect so far

 

I can't speed shift into third and fourth, i have to baby it into those gears and thats really killing by e.t.

 

I use the SpeedFactory part and it is well made.. You may want to make sure your transmission doesnt have any other issues as well..

i had a problem shifting to 3rd..it would lock me out at high rpms..but i changed my bushings and went with solid mounts and never had a problem after that..but the sf shift changer looks like it will help...maybe yours is bent inside..

 

does it grind? are you sure its not a syncro or worn gear?

 

I already replaced the third and fourth synchros and also third gear. But I also had a handcuff that used to leave a lot of aluminum shavings in the oil, so i removed it and installed fifth gear. Thanks for all the info looks like I am definetly going to get a speed factory change holder.
