Default Rumors, Myths and Flat Out Lies...

Just got off the phone with another person sharing their version of "I heard..."

So far I've heard:

I'll be driving Ron Lummus' car, since he's driving something else next year...

I'm driving Gary Gardella's 2nd Pro car...

I've got a Scion deal...

I'm working with Marty Ladwig...

I'll be driving a ProRWD car...

There were some others but I forget at the moment, just to clarify, none of the above are true, I just think it's funny how everyone knows what everyone is doing and it's all over the board.
But coming from me directly, unless we get a sponsor the car will be for sale in January (as well as the truck/trailer/parts/etc...). So anyone looking to get into Hot Rod/Pro 4 with a consistent 8.4xx car, keep that in mind.

Got to love it!

It was nice talking with you in Vegas and I hope that you do put something together or stick with it a bit longer.

You cant sell the car. Nobody will drive it as smooth as you so it will break a tranny every pass.

That suck about the rumors, I think everyone is going thru it right now.... Good luck

Thanks guys, trust me, I don't want to sell it, but if I can't race it, then I have many bills to pay.

Oh, that reminds me, that was another story I heard..
We heard a bunch of racers thought we were lying about have a stock transmission and we really had a liberty gear set!
We'll pull it out of the car right now and sell it. It's got a broken case though, the case cracked on my 8.411 pass and got fluid on the clutch on my bye run in the semi's, so that's why I drove through the clutch in the finals at Pomona.
We put over 80 passes on the car in 9 events and testing and only broke one 1st gear and two 2nd gears total!

Does anyone know what Hoyos is doing next year?

Does anyone know what Kubo is doing next year?

Why did Papadakis quit?

Why did Hartford go to IHRA and give up on NHRA/Nopi?

Will Ara race anything next year?

Who will Titan race against if everyone is quitting?

Will Efantis and Humphries race NHRA next year?

What happened with Laskey's new car, will it be ready for next season?

When is Brent's Pro FWD car going to hit the track?

Will there only be full fields in T4 & SFWD?

Will there only be 2 & 3 car fields in the rest of the classes?

What teams will have the money to travel to the far races with the payouts being so low and the price of fuel so high?

Will the sanctioning bodies have to allow domestic cars in to survive or just depend on lifestyle events? Once there are no racers you can call it just a lifestyle event and bikini contest.

Just some random questions.

based on a couple of posts i have read in the last few minutes. Import Drag racing is in a crisis. Pro drivers leaving, not racing, folks can't afford to race, domestics coming in to fill the void(not a bad idea), pro car counts down...what is going on?

where are the dragsters that was supposed to be out? it seems that there are too many projects that start and never get finished or never pan out.

Hoyos is close to done and should be testing very soon.

Kubo is going to be in a Funny Car next year.

He has done everything in SC drag racing maybe he is board and wants to do something new. Also, there is F&F 3 that is all drifting, maybe he wants to catch the wave...

Have to ask Matt, this one is odd to me.

Don't you think it is funny that Ara has AEM on the dragster, no deal with Street Glow, and Steph not racing...

Efantis and Humphries will be running Pro RWD next year.

wow the sport is taking a **** on it self from what it sounds like. grew too fast and imploded !!!!!!expletive i hate to hear about this ****, everyone leaving or companys not re-signing...

I think the future lies with at least two series getting out of the way. There is one that knows drag racing and there is one that has been doing import drag racing longer than anyone. With less series, less rules, less fighting for racers money it should come back.

I think we need less pro classes. The classes are spread too thin. Reduce the number of classes and force people to pay to play. With the right set of rules all of the current pro cars could fit into 3 major classes. This can also put more focus on the 3 major sportsman classes (the real future of the sport).

Who knows, you hear every year that SC drag racing is dead and it just keeps getting a little better and a little stronger each year. There are a lot of good sponsors coming into the sport next year and a lot of cars being built that will be ready to go. Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock was not built in a day and I don't think we can expect the same from Sport Compact.

Sorry to re direct your thread Stephanie.

But i think that the sport would change if more people stopped crying about if they can compete or not and just come out and compete!!!! If people come out and show what the have. Then sanctioning bodies can regulate the rules and make things fair and close. but so far every year all i hear is people crying about GM and big sponsored cars and people crying just to be crying. NO body can do anything if no cars show up to race. How can you make rules to be in your favor if people don't even try to race.</TD></TR></TABLE>

this is happening more and more because of the internet and forums...too many bandwagon people...when there are "pros" involved in forums...its almost like the bible when comparing how people abide by what they post...too many rumors are ruining our sport...discussion forums are worse then the media...so many people can totally get away with lies, misinformation, hearsay, opinions, etc...I miss the good old days when I didn't spend half my day on this website

rado has not given up on his car...in fact he's running this weekend at IDRC in Palmdale...the new car will have the same set-up with modifications to increase serviceability...he's been out this season working through the issues with the car -- not running what he'd like but still trying (just like Ali).

PEOPLE STOP CRYING AND RACE!!!!!!!!!!!
