Default Quick roll cage question

Im installing a pre bent cage and wanted to know if its allowed to put a bend in the door bar for more elbow clearance. I only need an inch maybe 2 at the very most. Ive seen pics with it done but just wanted to make sure its the right thing to do be for i go ahead and do it.

Thanks guys

Are you going to have it go towrads the outside or inside of the vehicle? Remember your door panel also has to fit.

if it is a street class car you had to retain the door panels last year for most if not all sanctioning bodies

..y.o. boosted eg's post might be pointless in referance to your question, but his door bars look real good. i saw them today.

...but, to answer your question, a lil bend in the door bar is fine.

a little bend is ok, for some reason i guess my car may be the exception to the rule, but i have door panels and no bent bars.

..Usually pre-bent and cages that arent built very tight (meaning the main hoop) will allow a staight door bar with the door panels on. If my door bar was straight it would crush my door panel.

that's what i was thinking. i did not want the bar bending towards my arm so i just take a slice out of the door panel. whatever makes you feel more comfortable i thought would be best.

We had cut cut into our door panel. I will get a pic later on today. After we cut the door panel up we sent it out to have new fabric put on.

It is nice when sitting in the car and not having a bar cramming into your arm. It perfectly clears the arm.
