yea, you should be able to use your quaife from your cable trans in a hydro trans..... if that is what your question is? if you are asking about the clutch.... do you have a big or a small spline cable? if its a small spline, you are going to need new clutch discs with a big spline.

Hunt and Ballard both ran cable gearboxes in the CRX's and Lisa Kubo and Venom used to run cable boxes in their race cars. I don't think being cable or small spline is a problem.

i know tilton makes small spline clutch disks for their twins... the diff will work in any other tranny w/proper ring gear and bearings.

i could see the age of these trannies being a weak point, who knows what they have been through ? i guess its no better than any other trans though. im sure most 5 speed transmissions take a good beating day in and day out.

Well, most of our B series trannies have over 100k on them by now too. It's a gamble any way you look at it.

my Quaife from my J1 tranny is in my new hydro tranny, which I think is a B16.

cable trannies are just as strong as hydro. YS1, S1, J1 which ever. the larger spline cable units are prefered by most though.
