Default tranny????

my bro drives a 240 with a sr20 redtop his tranny doesn't go into fifth gear or reverse does anyone know what the problem is or what it could be. thanks

Sounds to me like one of the shift forks isn't in the assembly (if it's anything like a Civic transmission).

Oh yeah, why ask this here?
