My car was seriously detuned for this show i was pulling lots of timing a very small air filter and i had my 2 step at 2300 i usually launch at 4200. I took the car down the track after I won it. That car was no joke the guy just couldn't drive. I barked the tires in every gear that thing shifted well and I'm sure i ran a better time than him my first time in the car
My car has run 9.40s at 146 with a bad launch I have made a few more changes since the show and expect high 8s this year. The reason my car was missing was I was pulling a bunch of timing the first two races I had a switch in the car to put timing back in but second was gone and it wasn't gonna help everything was going exactly how i planned untill I lost second then I needed the bottle because I have a very low first and 3 is 1to1 it just won't go in third at that low rpm but it did with Juice to give you an idea how fast that was I had a tune in the car to run about 10.7 for the first two the last race was a low ten or high nine in the low 140s. The only reason i wasn't freaking out is I had a great crew and my job was to drive i didn't have to touch the car if i would have had to work on it I would have been a complete wreck. The final numbers on the civic 658whp a legit low ten high nine car with a driver the car weighed in at 2100#s."

I knew someone was going to say something like that, and yeah, you don't see me going on TV and calling out 9 second Firebirds then whining like a ******' kid and asking for 20 car lengths. Besides, he did mis-represent me, I'm not a ******* dumbass. Maybe it was just the editing of it, but it looked like the kid had an excuse for everything, like he couldn't drive, and like he didn't know what the expletive he was doing. Sorry if I sound kinda bitter, but it's already annoying enough that people are still on this "import vs. domestic" beef and with every showing of it, the import heads look like or are made to look like fools.

2000 si with bigger turbo than yours....put down 401 at 18 psi....with 225/50/15 bfg drag radials on 6.5 inch wheels he went 11.1 at 139 with a 2.4 60 foot time....

please jon get an LSD in that car....it isn't gonna be fast until you do!!
hope you figure the car out and get it into the 10's cause that is one fast daily if you do!

I know the 400 trans fairly well and can tell you there's no way that car can go high 9's or low 10's without 2nd if it was only going 9.4's with it... especially when 3rd is 1:1. Something here doesn't add up right.

he was probably sandbagging big time on first 4 races!!!!! hehehe

 

One thing i'm curious about is this wastegate thing. If the vacume hose was torn, then the car wouldn't have a wastegate, and thus would be making as much boost as the turbo could give.

How did nobody on either team, or the PINKS crew themselves notice this?

 

i think the guy was just nice I don't even think the civic did 658. you would be able to tell.

Guys this is Jeff The owner of the TA. John is a good guy he got caught up in the moment of all the yelling and screaming beleive me they left alot out of the show. I wouldn't judge his driving skills to harshly he damn sure ran a ten that last pass. He was progresivly getting better every race and man that was intense and very stressfull I probably would have cried if he would have beat me and took my car to. I do many years expeirience driving fast cars. I'm sure he learned a lesson and he will make sure he gets the car sorted out before he has a big race again. John keep your head up man! Jeff

i learned alot and the lsd is on the way i am married with 2 kids i dont have tons of money to dump into a car but whatever, if this is how people react to things i dont even want to be apart of a place like this actually its some lowlife groupies that nothing else to do that bag on other people for fun. I love checking this site out to get the experience that i need to build a car and have fun but whatever keep talking **** it doesnt bother me all i can do is learn how to drive better and keep practicing hopefully full race will bring up the respect for hondas that i brought back down

 

I was doing low 140s on the spedo when I went through the traps so I'm just guessing and the fact that was the only run I launched the car hard was 3tenths in the 60 I was past him before my front wheels touched down. I drove his car and that thing pulled like crazy that 2 bar boost gauge pegged instantly I'm not sure how much boost they threw at on that last pass but more than 2 bar. I was very impressed with the power that car made! How the hell do you guys drive those big HP front wheel drive cars the torque steer was scary you realy have to drive that thing all the way down the track. Jeff
