obx lsd
I just got a b16 trasmission from a friend with a obx lsd, i'm trying to buy a 4.7 type R final drive but they are asking me if the lsd has 10 or 12 bolts.
does anybody knows how many bolts does the b16 obx lsd has?
try seaching and came up empty
thanks

i just finish reading something and according to what i was reading the b16 transmission with a 4.4fd has a 66t ring gear and the type r 4.7fd also has a 66t ring gear and both share the same 15t counter shaft. there is a difference between the b16a and the type r because the earlier (b16 92-95 del sol) has a 64t ring gear set so is smaller a that will make the bolt pattern different. so based on that i believe that the type r final drive will fit on the 99-2000 b16 transmission with a 4.4 final drive.
correct me if I'm wrong....... i'm trying to to lear before i pull everything apart
thanks

10.
Only way an ITR FD will fit in the trans is if you use a B18C diff. So if you want to run the OEM FD, get a B18C diff. If you want to keep the OBX, get a 4.7 FD for a B16A like the MFactory FD.

Since honda transmissions where so inconsistant when manufactured, I have found some b16s with big ID ring gear and (most) small ID ring gear, same goes for itr's, and gsr's(most big ID's)? LMK if I'm wrong?

Letting you know lol. All B16's have the small ID ring gear, all ITR's and GSR's have the large. Any you open that are different have been opened up by someone else before and changed. Honda is very consistent when it comes to transmission.
Optional oem Viscous LSD. Was an option for both the B16A and B18C. It's not just the bolt pattern that is different, the LSD is physically part of the ring gear functionally (although it can be separated)
