New clutch disk, but not shure if the rest is good...?
Since drag race guys know a thing or two about clutches, I'll post this in here too.
I burned up my clutch a few months ago, it had only 320 miles on it and gave out on me at the track in third gear during a pass... Long story short, Competition Clutch did not warranty is because there was "no indication of manufacturing defects" dispite feeling as though they should have sent me all new stuff I still paid for a new clutch disk, but all that is besides the point.
When I sent my clutch and flywheel to them for inspection, I asked the guy, who I kept in touch with over the phone, to check the flywheel for straightness, the flywheel was resurfaced by a local machine shop and when I got it back I didn't like the way it was resurfaced. You can see, just by looking at it, the pressure plate surface is low on one side and high on the other. So I send it to CC with the rest of the stuff so he can check it out for me, he says it's ok and fine to use... I did some measurements just to know for myself and one side is .041 higher than the other, seems like a lot to me.....?
High side
Low side
And the PP has three numbers on it 1700, 1610, and 1423lbs... the 1610 is written over the 1700, wich one is it?

IS there any paticular runout spec in the factory service manual? I would talk to a few machinist possibly and ask what they usually see for runout aswell. Remeber too that the friction discs flex some aswell when being mated to the flywheel/pressure plate.
Does the clutch material look heated and what friciton material was the disk? Improper clutch disengagement and engagement from mal adjusted master rod or at worse not shimming the pivot ball can cause some heat issues to the disc and prematurly ruin the disc.
Do you have any pictures of the disc?

I have no idea what the acceptable runout is, I'm not so much worried about the disk surface as I am about the preassure plate surface varying 41thous, though the disk surface may also be off but not nearly as much as the pp surface...
The disk is a 4puc sprung ceramic, don't have pics of the old burnt/broken up one but here is a pic of the new one

Does competition clutch have any input on the 41 thousandths on the pressure plate? See if you can find runout specs for the flywheel and i would assume a faulty pressure plate based on that.

I can't find the runout specs for the flywheel, I just want to know if it is alright to use a flywheel that has a PP surface wich is off .041????? A few people say it is ok but I'd just like some more thoughts on this.
