for the last 4 years ive been running a bone stock jdmH22a. Over the years i added certain mods and had a port and polish job done but the bottum end stayed bone stock, i hadnt done much more than remove the oil pan and replaced all the seal (rear main, crank, ballancer, oil pan etc.) For what it was, i was making pretty good power and the times i was hitting were cool too. At my last track event, i spun a rod bearing and had the car towed home. It was time for the motor to go anyway cause the cylinder walls are scratched to hell and the motor burned oil too, sooo im going to do a new build. So, the dilema is if i should stay in the street class and do a crazy high comp build and still drive the car to track events or should i do a "kinda" high comp build and still drive the car to the track. When i say kinda high comp, im talkin botu 12.5 or 13:1. Any input would be appreciated. Btw. i dont drive the car every day but i do want to be able to. My overall horsepower goal is something like 240-260 hp with around 180 tq. let me know what you guys think.
current head setup; s2s2 cams, big port n polish, s2 cam gears, port flow valve train, blacktrax intake manifold, dtr header (4-1) but im going to go 4-2-1 also by dtr.... thats all... thanks for any input...
