"no boost" has a hood latch still. So he will use the minis its just a fiber glass hood so they will help hold it down and stop the flex.

All around good guy (Tim@TurboElement) to do business with hands down! Quick response and will take the time for customer service. Getting mine done as well. Thanks again for the heads up Ahobbs.

did anyone recieve the email from quick latch stating without a hood latch that you should be using 8 to 10 minis on your hood?

wondering if there just covering there *** or if that many is really necessary?

i have four of them, but to have double that would just be a mess of pins

you might be ok with 4, but more is better. Put it this way. Their standard "hood latch" kit handles 1500lbs of pulling force per latch. the minis are only 150lbs of pulling force per latch. They have failed with using 2. you might could supplement by making a safety catch where the stock latch goes that you can just rotate to make it engage the hood latch ring and then slide your hand in to disengage that when you want to open the hood. thats if you have easy access to that area.

thats kind of what i was thinking, adding two more latches, then making something to resemble the stock hood latch that would catch maybe a half inch up or so if the latches were to give that way once the latches are pushed as well it could move up a hair for me to fit my fat fingers in there to disengage it

Why not just get the actual hood latches made by Quik-Latch? IMO, it's not worth it to take the chance in using the standard Quik-Latch on your hood with the possibility of it failing.

IMO 8-10 is a bit overkill, but its more to CYA. simply put the more the better if your going to use mini's. It would become more of a Pain to latch them all. The min you unlatch one another will grab it and latch back in. Much easier with the hood pins. Like i said before. these are mainly used for bumpers and side skirts. The hood pins are made specifically for the hood.

well i personally cant justify spending 500 dollars to latch my hood (without the actual hood latch) i didnt realise it but earlier i said i had 4 i meant that i currently have 2.

those are installed now I'm having issues trying to decide what to do get another two and a safety latch or say screw it and do two actual ugly hood pins out towards the sides and keep the two minis in the middle.

ugh decisions decisions

I think aerocatch would be the better option for the hood if youre going to install that many of quiklatches

its only 250 for a pair lol. Just take out the mini's and install hood pins and use the mini's somewhere else. The aerocatch are cool peices but a PITA to install. 80.00 for plastic material and 2hrs of installation. That's a choice you have to decide. I had a set of aerocatches and before i started cutting i compared the two and it took me 10min if that to install the latches lol. Time is hard to come by for me, so i try my hardest not to waste it
