what brand do you like, and why as well as how low does it keep your temps

Ive made 650 on my 200 dollar cooler temps were high though

 

Made 800 on 100 ebay intercooler my temps are 130 after run

 

Kinda makes ya think dont it

things that make ya go hmmm do i spend 600-700 on a " good cooler" or do i just buy a bigger cxracing one like i have now that wasnt tsuppose to support over 400hp


i like these threads because it puts out there what people have done, and are doing instead of just following the crowd

 

Mabey someone can explain..... iam not kidding either.... The air being pushed thru the intercooler is the came air coming out.....how does this "help " power... The 02 % is the same once its in the pipe weather it comes in hot and leaves cold ???

Garrett has gave me the best results so far.

 

My IAT sensor was F'ed up. But I had a friend give me a China (looks like CXracing) 3" (31x12???), and he said I wouldnt make more than 550 with it (he couldnt). Sure enough, years later I went to make big power, and couldnt make over 556. I hit 556 by 7500 rpm, and it just started to fall off. Pretty sure it was the intercooler.

So this year, I plan on using the Treadstone 22x12.5x4.5 intercooler.

Although, I dont plan on making over 620 or so on stock sleeves, and down the road, hopefully I can see over 700whp (with sleeves).

But Im glad you brought this topic up. Im hoping to see more people using the Treadstone core in this thread.

This one is a 12x24x4" core

 

We made over 700hp on my cx racing intercooler. And IATs stayed right at 111 pretty much the whole track hit 113 when i backed out off the throttle.

 

I am a HUGE fan of BELL intercoolers, yes they are pricey but they are amazing and thier pressure drop is very low. Also the intake temp reduction was the most I have seen from any intercooler to date.

Those bell intercoolers are heavy! I had one back in like 2001. I dont know if they changed their design since then.
