Re: my 67mm sfwd vw build
yeah, jetta front end. haha. i like the jetta fronts better than the golf.
we had an issue with the sm4. i continued to get a communication error through my laptop. i went through alot of trouble shooting on my own and with lugnuts. kevin came to the conclusion it would be best to send the ecu back to him for inspection. he fixed the issue on the bench, and i had it back in my hands in about a week. he shot the injectors along with it too. i installed the injectors/ecu back in the car. haven't poured the race gas in yet, or buttoned up the valve cover (vc has to be removed to install/remove fuel rail). i'll have time this weekend to fire this pos. stay tuned.

You won't hear us talking about those guys like that. The VW drag racing scene
in Brazil and Argentina is something we dream about having here.
Most of us old schoolers started messing around with the 8v's back in the day.
Lately, we have proven that the stock, unported 16v and 20v heads can make some ridiculous power.
Our cars run at a much higher weight up here. But believe me, the power department
is covered.
2010 is shaping up to be a very good year, keep us posted on what's going on down there.

Yeah... VW is our scene, but people here refused to evolve, and still pushing those poor 8v heads..... Besides, the EMS that they use here, it's a big piece of ****, but they insist it's the best ever ever...
I'd like to see what power is being made in those 20v heads, to prove the ones that still say that 8v is better wrong.
This one is compeltely outlaw, but it's fast though.

And this is not a VW, but it's the Monalisa of Brasilian cars:

This thing is ALL MOTOR K series.. It trapped 10.0s, was close to 9's, but the owner was'n't happy enough so it's now boosted. Runing mid 8's without 3 gear.. possibly going down to 7's when the Xtrac arrives

The 20V heads have made big power. A stock port AEB (factory big port head) with stock ports, stock size valves and off-the-shelf big hydraulic cams will put down over 1000 to the wheels.
We definately know about Saphino-- we've got our eye on that car.

SHES ALIVE!!!
i had a problem with my serial port laptop, causing me to have to use my usb laptop. well, the sm4 doesn't like the adaptor i have...so i wasn't able to make any changes. which it needs...badly. the sm4 isn't triggering the fuel pumps, so i had to make a jumper for them. she will run as long as i hold it around 3500. i let off the gas, and it stumbles to a point that i can't recover it. so, i kept her running at 4k, and let her warm up. i need to add fuel at pt. it was running pretty lean. if i stabbed the gas it would richen up, but fall back to lean. right around 50psi of fuel pressure. i have a buddy looking at the laptop so i can make changes hopefully tomorrow.
i can tell you this. out of the 9 years tuning these engines, i have not heard a 1.8t sounds like this. the engine sounds nice and healthy, and is quick to pick up revs. i stabbed the gas a few times pulling it up to 6k rpms, and it pulled the rpms up so quickly, the 2step activated. not what i wanted on a fresh motor, lol. point is, it revs up quickly. once i get communication going, i can start tuning on it. i have a problem with the alt not charging either. i killed a battery in about 45mins of running/starting, etc.
