Default LSD for dragracing

Guys whats the best LSD for dragracing? Lets not include a spool coz it will be for my weekend warrior honda hatchback. I was thinking betweek kaaz, mfactory, quife, wavetrac..

Do they have a big difference from a type-r lsd?

how much pwr is your car making? i dont have any experience with an oem lsd but i have witnessed one or two break at the track due to some harsh launches on slicks.

I got Mfactory in mine with no issues. Mfactory has a lifetime warranty so you cant go wrong with them.

I've used Quaife and Wavetrac and have never been able to damage either one in 14 years. My current wavetrac is about 7 years old now.

MFactory or Quaife. Kaaz is clutch type so definitely don't use it. I'm not a big fan of the Wavetrac, I tore one down after three 1,000whp passes and found more too much wear for barely any use. Could have been an isolated issue though.

So now its between quife and mfactory. Does both of them have the click click click click sound when turning like a kaaz lsd? Coz my friend has a kaas lsd and everytime he turnes into a corner it makes a click click sound.

Is the mfactory and quife a direct bolt on for my 4.4 lsd tranny?

Neither will make the clicking sound when turning. They are torsen type differentials. The clutch type would be the ones that click.

They do not. MFactory and Quaife are helical LSD's are are silent.

Type R yes, just order a B18C fitment.

They are helical type. Torsen is a brand.

A spool... lol. For a turbo drag car I would do a wavetrac hands down. Cool part too is you can get the custom oversized spline on the K series wavetrac to fit the Pro level DSS axels so there is no taper down. On a basis of whats the best for big power
1. spool
2. wavetrac w/dss pro level
3. quaife
4. mfactory/kazz
5. oem lsd

I believe DSS uses a quaife version that has the bigger spline as well. Both brands have it i thought.....maybe not.

Correct.

We've had the Quaifes in both cars "bind" on the small centre gear - which can easily be fixed with a light surface grind, but have never "broken" one.
The one in the drag car ran for a very long time before giving any issues.

MFactory does as well. Please don't group MFactory with Kaaz. MFactory does make a clutch type, but that isn't the one we're talking about here.
