Keep in mind there arn't a whole lot of real drag strips in the old Eastern bloc, as you can see he ran on the straightaway of a road course, that has a lot to do with it. Riga is basically at sea level, but the lack of traction kills it.

Exactly! Riga is directly at "0" level by Baltic sea.
