ITR LSD ?
i got a ITR LSD and last night i shattered a inner CV joint to muiltiple pieces. now my question is this, shouldnt my car still b able to move??? or does it need some type of resistance on the other side of the tranny to get it to "lock". this was in round 1 where my opponent redlit.

lucky for me that i had a spare with me and i proceeded to whoop *** in the second and third rounds. then, in the 4th and semi final round this happened

No it wont, thats a cop-out for when someones expensive *** axles break.

****, its nice to see that im not gettin email notifications.
the car makes 195WHP as of last june.
i tighten the **** out of the axle nut, never had a problem. most of the time when i broke axles its from inner joints.

QUOTED from the helms manual
all gears are helically cut so that this differential action is limited by the friction created between each gear and differential carrier when either wheel slips"
im readin more on it.

its racing.. stuff breaks sometimes.. its nothing to be all worked up about.. if i would have kept the pieces of all the axles i have broken.. it would be one big *** crate.. when u break an axle with a lsd the car just wont go out of control. it will come to a hault.. with a spool u can drive it still but it will be pulling hard to one side. hope this helps. put a new one in there and get back out there..
i know **** breaks max, ive gone through axles and a KAAZ LSD in the past. i just thought with this ITR LSD that it would still drive.
when i broke my KAAZ LSD i knew it was goin, im just glad i made it back from the 5 hr drive where i broke it at. with the clutch style of the KAAZ it still drove and i guess i expected this outta the ITR too. oh well, i have a new axle and thats what counts.
theres nothin crunchin in the tranny so i think the LSD is ok, i just thought id ask and i think u might have answered my question. i might have to order a spool, afterall this is my track car only.

same thing has happened to me a couple of times. Where it broke on the spline. Now, I cant get the spline into the hub because the splines are twisted on the hub. This may happen to you. It sucks. Now im waiting for my dss stage 3
see, thats what bothers me, just the fact the damn car wouldnt move. thanx for the reply allmotor93hatch. keep em comin. i still think the LSD might be ok though just for the fact its gear driven and there is no unusual noise from it.
they were stockers, i went all last yr without breaking one, exact same setup. now in one weekend i broke 3. yes, u heard me correctly, i added another broken axle to my list today.

that the thing about axles ....they eventually will break.....
i broke the shaft of an axles inside the tranny one time .....i was 300 miles from home......the worse part was it was a stock diff.....i had to use a skinny at piece of metal and try and tap it out from the other side......that was shitty

when i had my si i busted 6 stock axle in one summer. 5 within a month-and-a-half (at the track) all right side passenger. suspension lined up. broke them all at the launch without moving an inch right in the middle of the shaft. this was with 173 whp and like 119 torque on dunlop sp5000 all season tires. the 6th was driver side cuz balljoint gave way...wheel seperated and crashed fender etc...my next mod is beefier axles for my current setup

id take offense to this statement if it wasnt for the fact i won 1st or 2nd 6 out of 13 races i attended last yr on the exact same axles. in fact, went the whole yr on those axles no problem. other than that u can STFU
jk and axles will b on order this week.
