i need shifting tips
Ok guys, i just learned manual, and need some advice. I just got a 94 rx7 tt touring ed. and i can shift normally great, but for racing, i need to know to REALLY shift. i dont wanna do anything that just kills the tranny tho like powershifting. if n e 1 has n e suggestions lemme know!!! thanks!
well theres no real technique besides practice to tell you the truth. and anybody will tell you that much. but for me a good way of shifting fast is to start the shift right b4 you hit the clutch pedal(like RIGHT b4) and just hit the clutch as fast as you can and pull back as fast as you can (from first 2 second) and trust your self that you will have it in gear by the time you take your foot out. when you dont hear an exhaust cut off then your shiftin pretty fast
its not easy at first to get the foot/hand cordination down but practice. i assure you youl get it.
EDIT: and yes you will miss. dont worry it happens, good luck

One thing that may help is getting a short shifter. This should prevent mis-shifts becuase of the shorter throw and less time with less shift distance.
