Default When should I shift?

Currently, I'm shifting at about 8100rpm in every gear. When I shift to second I get quite a bit of wheel spin. I'm wondering I could get better times if I shifted earlier from 1st to 2nd to avoid the spinnng. I'm gonna try this next time I'm at the track but I'm so inconsistent that I don't know if it would even tell me anything. Thanks.

You want to shift at redline. Try not shifting so hard.

With high revving cars like these, it's a pretty safe bet to shift at or as near to fuel cutoff as possible. I shift at 8200-8300 (indicated) and I do get the wheelspin in second gear that you are talking about, but the only quick fix for that is to slip the clutch into second instead of dumping. But even if you could do that perfectly and totally avoid wheelspin, you would probably only knock a couple hundredths off your ET, and the chances of you messing up are even greater.
