in high rpm when i shift into second it feels like i shift into a solid wall.. after about a second then it goes into gear! anyway i can stop this or help it out?

so you are saying at high revs you can't make the shift from 1st to 2nd smoothly? Are there any grinding noises or anything when you are trying to do this? I guess it could be a variety of things....syncros, linkages, clutch system? Any other symptoms?

Right? Some sort of specification might help....

If it's a manual, and you put it in gear and it slowly starts to come down after you release the clutch, you have a slipping clutch

yes its manual.... its like a slight pause. its while im racing basically. its a jdm h22 tranny

You need a new clutch. It's slipping.

does it grind when you try to shift fast into 2nd gear. you should try to shift a little slower.

its a six puk clutch.. its pretty new still and grabs like hell still.... i tried to shif slower and that didnt work either

I am not too sure, but my buddy did some homework and he has owned nothing but Honda's all his life, I had the same thing and he told me that its something done in the factory to prevent racing. I am not too sure though, I recently got into the Honda Scene bout a month ago.

Not to be a dick but you're buddy needs to do a little more homework. Anyways, if it's sticking when shifting and you replaced the clutch not to long ago, you could always try and bleed the slave and see if that fixes the problem

carbon fiber synchos will do the trick.
your tranny will damn near shift it self.

on the real, get some honda mtf, the newer stuff, and just change the tranny fluid.
im sure that will definitely help, most ppl swear by the new mtf.

I shift from 1st to 2nd (either while racing, or at a high rpm, or shifting fast) and it clicks down a little, but doesnt go in gear. It takes 1-2 seconds for it to actually "pop" in gear, and it has no grinds right?

Same problem I have. You more then likely need your throw out bearing replaced. (From what a local Honda shop told me about my car) Also have your shift fork checked.

And as far as fixing it "free", double check ALL tranny cables to make sure nothing is being jammed when shifting. Make sure to check near the tranny area so that no connectors or wires are getting tangled with the shift linkage.

never have I seen/heard more BS in one thread.

1) NO there is nothing in a honda transmission to stop you from "racing"

2) Your clutch is not slipping

When your trans shifts slow there is one (or both )of two things at work.
1) Your clutch is not fully releasing the input shaft, or doing so very slowly. For that problem, you need to bleed your clutch system and make sure it fully releases when you have the pedal down.

You will know if you have a bad throwout bearing, when you press the clutch down it will make noise. That is not this guy's problem.

2) Or it could be a trans in horrible shape. If your syncros are on the way out, it takes them longer to speed up or slow down the countershaft to the right speed to shift 1st-&gt;2nd.

your problem is in the tranny. it sounds like the slider is engaging the syncro but getting hung up on the dog teeth on 2nd gear.

you will most likely need a new gear assembly, honda sells them as a whole assembly including the gear you want w/ the hub, slider, sleeves, syncros and rings. will probably cost you around 400. for each assembly you need. it may end up being cheaper for you to buy another trans if you cant get cost at honda.

are you talking about clutch delay ?

I have never heard, nor experienced this on a manual transmission of any kind. And I've driven my fair share of cars, including a 1G DSM.

LOL! Hey! He did say 1st gen! The 6 bolt DSM's don't have that crankwalk problem!!

My Mom, who drives a 3rd gen v6 Eclipse had this problem. It ended up being the slave cylinder on the clutch. The seal on the inside was leaking, and the clutch wasn't engaging all the way...it was grabbing ever so slightly...just enough to make it impossible to shift without double clutching. Double clutched it, and it was fine. I pulled the rubber boot off the slave cyl, and it spewed out fluid. New slave, and a fresh bleed, and it was good as new. I hope your problem is this simple.

that is my exact problem... you think using a good *** tranny fluid would help it out?

the best tranny fluid for your honda is made by HONDA.

like i said, the problem is inside the trans and will only get worse w/ time. speciall fluid additives will NOT fix it. it will need to be rebuilt w/ new parts otherwise you are wasting your time.

id say its the throw out bearing check that
