help me!!!
i've never been drag racing before. mostly because i had a slow car. i will be getting a non faulty ecu in hopefuly tomorow. i want to go out to the drag strip (its only an 1/8 mile) on saturday. can someone give me some tips on a good run. my setup is jdm b16 in 92 cx with intake, headers, exhaust, and coilovers. i'm mostly conserned about my launch. help me please.
ok heres a real tip for u...
To find the sweet spot to launch the car at, you will have to pick an RPM, rev the motor to that RPM and launch when the light turns green.. If the car bogged or spun the tires on the launch, you will have to adjust the launch RPM accordingly...
Try starting around 3000 RPMs and work from there...
boggin = RPM too low, try higher
tires spinning = RPM too high, try lower

only use the parking break if you have too.. its just one more thing to worry about when you try to take off and being a beginner, you might forget to let the break out.. if the car wants to roll out of the staging lights, then yes, use it...

no prob..
tires will also help your launch... depending on what type of tires you use, you might want to lower the air pressure.. Like everything it all depends on what you have... if you have low profile tires, letting air out wont help at all, if you have drag radials, try lowering the presure to around 24psi, and if you have stock type tires, lowering the air pressure will help alittle but you will still have traction issues regardless, so work on the launch RPM...

I could type up a whole list as I am sure a lot of other people on here can.
But my biggest suggestion is actually what someone else said. Just go out and have fun. No doubt your first time at the track you will mess up and prob not run your best time but it is a learning expereince and I actually have more fun talking with other people at the track then racing.
It is a great way to meet all kinds of knowledgable people and a great way to have fun.
The first time I drag raced my turbo hatch I ran a 15.3 or something crazy like that I was like dam I suck. But after more and more practicing I got my numbers down a lot. And everytime I ran a better time or decreased my 60 foot times I
and was like hell yeah.
So anyway just go out have fun learn your car and try not to break anything.
