Money is definitely an issue. If it really isn't and you want the best
Get yourself a magneti marelli ECU.

Now lets get back to reality.

for an all motor car get yourself the hondata. If your boosting get the AEM, Autronic, or Motec

Money being an issue or not, nothing runs like an Autronic...........anybody who wants to argue that point, just stop by your local drag strip when the Laskeys are in town and listen to their car on the two step rev limiter........it's so clean its almost musical..........lets see any other ecu do that!

Im not gonna argue. AUTRONIC IS THE ****. I love my SM2. I just got done installing an SMC on my friends vw and that car runs mint. Autronic is the best kept secret of ECU's Period.

But i still think magneti marelli is in their own league. Im a big fan of formula 1 and ferrari. And they got there **** together no doubt about it. i know im a little biased towards italian products... BUT their the best hands down... LOL...

If money wasn't an issue, most of us wouldnt be building Hondas.

Autronic, if you don't mind wiring...

Hondata\AEM if you do...

Being from Texas, I am not sure how far you are from Michigan, but I know of a great tuner there.

Actually Ben, have you payed attention to our car on the two step? Same deal, no popping and banging bullshit! Obviously you know alot more that i do about fuel injection so i'm not even gonna try, but I'll put motec right up there or above autronic

When Kenny and I were on the line at nopi, I sat on the 2step for ever. People I guess were all scared that we were hurting stuff. Car runs fine like that for us and it seems like we can sit on it forever. Some of those cars that shoot ducks...you know that cant be good.

Yeah, i'm sure it's the same thing on both the autronic and motec. I think it's called a randomizer? If our two step is set at, say 7500, it'll go between 7250 and 7750 back and forth randomly cutting cylinders so you don't hurt anything. It's cool and all, but the popping and shooting flames is kinda cool sometimes too

Haha...I know, I kinda like the poping noise too. Its funny cause back in the day you knew the bad *** cars at the line by that noise. Its funny too that if your messing with it in the pits, you will draw a croud around you to watch.

They are built into the engine mgt. themselfs...it actually controls the rev limiter and changes the fuel ign. map to create boost.

Hi Tony,
I'll give you a little slack on this one...your car does sound nice!

Although the Autronic does the job a bit differently than the Motec Randomiser........if you put the two cars next to each other, you'll notice that hey do sound different.............both sound good, but they are definately distinct.

The Autronic uses a combination of methods which can be user selectable to define exactly how to maintain the engine at a given RPM.
Basically there are four seperate methods that can be used individually or together to arrive at the desired combination.......you have:
Fuel cut HARD
Fuel cut SOFT
IGN cut HARD
IGN cut SOFT
which ones I use and in what combination depends on whether the car is Turbo, N/A or supercharged, or even Nitrous.

I do like the Motec systems, and now that they have some windows software available like the Autronic stuff we should see a pretty good rivalry! hehe
After all, the best part about racing is the competition, right?

-Ben

Are you experienced in tuning, do you have a good tuner close by?
