Default CSS Block Users Unite !!

Just got my block in and was wondering how many people are rocking the css (cylinder support system). How much whp and times have been achieved with this support??

Here you go.

This car makes 800whp on the dyno, run's low 9's in the 1/4.

Thanks, for the link... It seems like there's not that many users out..people must likely do sleeves but this seems like a good solution for the budget racer...

it was either CSS block or GE sleeve for me. Then I decided to go with GE sleeves. CSS seems very promising though. We will have to see how long these blocks will hold

Our next block will be CSS. Our stock sleeve coupe is at 620whp and just broke into the 9's 24.5 tire, oem gears, 2300lbs. I've heard eggy civic coupe is putting down 800whp on the CSS block running low 9's. Can't wait to get a CSS block, new turbo setup, trans gear set and go for low 9's. Eggy racing coupe might possibly go 8's with the CSS if they keep at it.

Interested in this blocks average max capabilities!

Here's the link to there site where you can have the service done and a link showing a CSS block split down the middle showcasing how deep the support goes along the cylinder. They seem pretty badass

I hope everyone knows that this CSS process was originally created for street cars that wanted to safelty make 400-600 without buying full sleeves. Its true eggy has been running low 9s for a couple season but that's with a lot of R&D. Figure I clear that up before people start to think they can buy a 400$ block and start doing 30psi pulls right off the bat. Either way you look at it, this is the best thing that could have hit the market for us low budget guys

It's a nice piece for a street car if 10.5s or lower 600hp +is what people are looking for then fork out the few hundred more for a sleeved block CSS 650+ shipping vs 1100 + bore n hone but for street seems perfect my only problem is cant rebore like a sleeved block 81mm-85mm

you can do a overbore on a CSS block as long as it's within the service limit of the oem sleeves, so if you have a stock 81mm bore LS block if the machinist can get a nick out without surpassing 82mm bore you can run the block again.

You will loose some of your cooling, you will need to upgrade your cooling system to like a 2 core aluminium radiator and fans etc...

It is no way like a closed deck sleeve. The aluminum support ring actually draws heat from the cylinders faster than the water does and alum transfers heat nearly 6x faster than cast iron. This exceptional heat transfer to the outside of the block, allows water to do an even better job of keeping engine temp consistent.

Customers call me all the time and tell me they can't believe how cool the cars stay on the dyno unlike the sleeved cars.

because of the good transfers it something that needs to pay attention in cold weather? letting the car warm up longer?
