Correct. But we are talking about racecars, even if there driven on the street. So there is always a need for monitoring on a racecar hot, cold, humid, high elevation ect.. all atmospheric changes have effects when dealing with internal combustion engines.

It is no way like a closed deck sleeve. The aluminum support ring actually draws heat from the cylinders faster than the water does and alum transfers heat nearly 6x faster than cast iron. This exceptional heat transfer to the outside of the block, allows water to do an even better job of keeping engine temp consistent.
Customers call me all the time and tell me they can't believe how cool the cars stay on the dyno unlike the sleeved cars.

Myself and several other local North Carolina guys run CSS b series blocks in our track cars, i just made 809who 510 ft lbs tq on 82mm CSS block S366 turbo, only reason i stopped at 800 was because the turbo maxxed out. I've seen these blocks hold over 900whp with proper tuning, for multiple seasons, on the regular css not even the race version.
