Icon7 Calling all 23" slick users

I'm thinking about going with 23" M&H slicks because I don't feel like dealing with clearance issues on my EG and I don't have money to spend on suspension right now (though I need it badly since my Tein coilovers are ancient). Fact of the matter is I want to get the car down the track ASAP. So what are the best ET and 60' times you guys see with 23"s on not so perfect suspension? Also include how much power and dyno type.

Last summer I went 11.79@120.5mph (1.82 60') with a cracked turbo mani on some old prototype 23" slicks, but I think that M&H slicks will hook much harder. I'm upgrading from the Hondata S200 to the S300 and I'll be launching off a 2 step this year. I also upgraded to a Thermal 3" turbo catback from an Apexi N1, so I should be over 400whp on a Dynapack. I'm hoping to go 11.49 or better so I can get booted for no cage! Thanks for any input.

I know my 60' and ET's are not going to be the same as everybody else, that's not what I'm asking for. I just want to know what is possible and what people have done with these tires before I spend the cash.

I wanted hard facts and this man came through with it. What brand 23" because I know that M&H only makes a 23x8x13". Were you launching on a 2 step?

alot of people are going to tell you mt and others will tell you m&h, you gotta see what works best for you! test them both out. Good luck!

thats exactly what you asked for.

and anything is possible, you could get 1.4's or you could get 1.9's, your not gonna know until you give em a try.

and besidesd that your gonna get a ton of different answers from everyone. its a pointless question.

your worried if the mh 23's will give you a good 60' when you said yourself you really need to fix your suspension

buy em, try em, and if you still get a shitty 60' spend some more cash to fix your suspension

i`ll give you an answer fella

we run M&H 23`s on a D16 EG.

1st time at the track we pulled 1.67 60ft`s, with no anti-lag, or launch control, all driver.
no dyno time on car either, street mapped. as for suspension, were on stock dampers, with a cheapy ebay coilover spring kit, no traction bars etc.

I knew it wasn't pointless to ask, because people enjoy sharing what they have gone through. Thanks for the info fellas. I'll def be getting a pair after I get the car tuned. I'll keep you updated on how I do at the track as well as dyno gains with the 3" exhaust.

Well they are actually 23x7.5x15's. This was on 10 pounds of boost with the 2-step set at 7500rpm. I was probably getting about 8 pounds of boost off the line and just clutch dropping with no pre-load.
