95 coupe drag car rebuild, going B series
Here is my new drag car that I just picked up, its is a 95 Civic coupe. The car has ran a 10.9 before with a B20V on a 60 trim with about 440hp, plans for this year is to put a stock block and run low boost. I would like to run the FIS class at IFO but there some real fast cars here in AZ that run that class, will probably just run a bracket class. Any advice or help is always appreciated this will be my first B series build.

I think I will, it should be ready for the next IFO. I just picked up a B20B engine yesterday from JDM Arizona. We shall find out how much it can handle.

Engine is installed and I am working on getting the turbo kit installed. I have decided to upgrade to a top mount setup, I found a good deal on a Boostjunkyz setup. Here are some pictures.

I don't think your trans setup is going to be ideal. Especially with a b20 block that you won't be revving out. IIRC you will only be able to trap around 120 with a b16 trans. Seems like I remember those kazz lsds don't hold up well in a drag situation either.

And I was going to say the same thing about the kazz lsd. Great for road course, bad for drag. You want a helical gear type lsd. Mfactory, Quaife or Wavetrac. Wavetrac being the best option imo.
And absolutely get a twin disc. Competition Clutch is fantastic and priced real well.

Thanks!
I do have a LS transmission that I can use and a box of gears came with the car. I will research what gears works best and probably put together a custom geared transmission. The Kaaz lsd is what the previous owner ran but now that I am not hearing good things about it I will probably change it.
Thanks! I will not be fast like you guys this year but as long as I can make it down the track this year I will be happy.
Right I have a CC Stage 4 but I will upgrade to a twin disc once the built engine goes in.
Thank you for your input, looks like the B16 transmission will be changed in the future and a custom geared transmission will be put in along with a helical type LSD. Right now the goal is to get the car running, pass emissions, and registered. I have a sleeved GSR block that is going to be built hopefully by next year.

I agree with this. B16 trans is great for all motor, but not as good for turbo. You need more rpms, and longer gears. Build the block a little, rods pistons, balance. Then you rpm potential is way higher. Get a longer final drive, Mfactory Pro series 4.05 is good and with the rpms you wont have to worry about running out of gear.

Re: 95 coupe drag car rebuild, going B series
I have gotten alot of work done lately and it is almost ready to run. I just need to install the axles and finish the intercooler piping, let hope I don't have too many bugs to work out. Here are some pictures.
