22" slick problem
I went to the track yesterday and did a few runs on street tires, then a bunch on my 22" slicks.
The Slick size is 22x8x15 on a 15x6 ITR wheels, this is how I bought them.
My car is 00 type R, only mods are I-H-E.
On street tires, I ran a
2.305-60' with a 14.4 at 97.5 1/4, 3 runs
with slicks, I ran a
2.160's-60' and the 1/4 still all a 14.5 at 95 and this was with 6 runs.
So my Q is how is that possible? Better 60' but with worse 1/4 time.
Im kinda stumped any help would be great. thanks

I tried tire pressure on all 6 runs starting at 18 working my way down to 12psi, the lower the tire/p the slower trap speed.
Clutch is new. As for the gearing, its stock ITR tranny with 4.7 FD.
Do you think its the wheel on slick size that could be the problem? 8" slick on a 6" wheel.
It looks like this sitting on the wheel \| |/

10psi. Good burnout let the slicks pull you thru and out the burnout box.
Try launching a diff RPM's. Start at around 7k rpm. based on that work your way up or down. If bogs, you need more rpm. If too much spin, lower rpm.

22" slicks, 7/8 psi in the tires on stock gsr wheels = 1.66 60ft's. These slicks were a year+ old also. Dont be scared to lower the tire pressure.
