Great 60', low MPH...why??
I remarked that each time that I've got great 60 feets time with my slicks my mph is lower than with my street tire. I just want to know why??
Best MPH with slicks is 98.8MPH and with street tire 99.5MPH with a 2.2 60'.
Thanks

20X8X14 MT but it seems that every car on street tire have better MPH (but lower ET)with the same set-up compared to slicks.

This is the way it is... you car will build a faster trap speed with Tire Spin... 60' will effect your ET not your MPH... with better grip on the slicks your wheels are spinning less... so lower MPH!

Start the 1\4mi in 2nd gear and tell me what your mph is....it's going to be way higher. Tire Spin puts you in a higher gear earlier, which gears your out to be a higher mph...just takes longer to get there.

I will try launching the car in 2nd on street tires when i get back out. I was given that advice by a big dog racer. anyone ever try it??I have to break the street tire record somehow. I have seen lance from Hp do it at moroso before and run a low 9.

The 20" slicks are about 2-3" shorter then the factory or +1/+2 wheel sizes. They just can't pull the MPH's.So, in theory moving up to a 22" slick will recover your MPH. Just make sure you have enough HP as to not bog them on the line.
