Just wondering if anyone has mounted and used this size on wheels that are 6"-8" wide, and what sort of times were you getting. Right now I have a pair of CRX wheels that are either 5" or 5.5" that I would mount those on. I was considering finding some 6" or 6.5" wheels, but just wanted to see what you guys have to say first.

I went to MT's site and their "measuring rim width" for the tire specs was 6". I would think that 6" is recommended, but what if I went wider?

they will work on 6" rims, but I suggest going to 14x7" rims.

On the 6" wide rims and 12 psi, you WILL end up wearing out the edges first.

I've went through 2 sets so far........

The wheel options I was considering were 6" Miata wheels, 6.5" BMW wheels, Bogarts from Exospeed, or even Diamonds.

I'm running on 14x6" TSW Alpines, almost as light as the Miata wheels.

Just know the Miata wheels will need the center bored to go over the hub.

Got the wheels, bored them out, and finally mounted/balanced. I weight it with my bathroom scale and they're about 24 lbs total.

I have 20 psi in them in these pics.


You're right about the wear issues. I bought this pair used. The seller only used them for 2 track sessions. I do notice the outsides are more "peeled" than the center. He had his mounted on HX (14x5.5 for those who don't know) wheels. There is a little camber wear also.

what the outer wear "holes"........

Nothing like doing 80 mph in 3rd and having a slick loose pressure........yet the car continued and was controlable. I went 13.5 on a flat slick, go figure.
