I'm stoked to hear that forward facing will be allowed, now I can purchase a manifold and wait for rule clarification to purchase a turbo.

I feel alittle better now that I took a whole year of racing off to build my car and the rules are changing. Oh well see you at the strip

Really?
Are you planning the trip to MIR for True Street?

MIR is the only place that True Street is ran.

Bleh? How bleh? I think it would be awesome and it would have a clear difference between sfwd and true street or the IFO class'. I dont care if they limit the true street cars to 70mm turbines or whatever the class is still too similar.

drag radials, exhaust out of the factory location, full interior, current tags and proof of registration. call it "real street"

Are electric water pumps allowed in the sfwd class? if its not it should be allowed since its not a power addder but does help in keep a motor together... or is that too much?

I wasnt for the rule change to slicks in 07. I ran DOT tires then and wanted to stay on them, but I did win WCF true street that year on slicks... lol

I always liked racing on street tires. I learned a lot on them.

to many changes, leave the rules exactly how they are but change it to radials with a max of 235/60/15! Easy enough, give it a try at the two events. I bet it will be a better turn out then most would expect.

What's going to happen when you put all these cars on radials... They are going to start breaking **** left and right. Track clean ups are going to increase which intern slows the whole event down

i think there needs to be a lot of rule changes to "separate" the classes, in looks, sound, and ET

The thing is, you can change all the rules you want, but its a matter of enforcing them during tech-in. There needs to be the same group of guys teching in cars or at least trained personnel and a legitimate tech in. Not just some guy that works at that specific track.

Exactly. I suggested a 225/50/15 limit as it is close to a 24.5" slick for gearing purposes as well as being easier to fit and potentially easier on parts. It is also likely to limit the et more. Ideally there would be no hood exit exhausts etc but as a start keep the true street rules as is just change the tires. As for tech it is pretty simple to read a sidewall.

With the advancements in clutch and axle technology not to mention suspenion and power management I am not sure how bad breakage would be. Its not exactly like these cars are maintenance free under the current rules.

How would replacing slicks with radials cause any breakage? What am I missing?

Radials are alot harder on parts then slicks!

Back in 2006 power street was a super fun class I was out there racing big power cars with 480hp with a 60-1. And was .3 slower then the fastest time ever on the Radials.

Granted I am sure now there will be fwd's in the 9's. The real problem what are you going to do with the RWD cars?

From wheel hop? In my eyes that's the only danger to less traction

That was a good time back then for sure. As for the 9 second mark IIRC Rick Everly did single digits on radials.

Hmm maybe a dot But I don't think he did it on a Radial!
