i have a 03 civic coupe. i want to spray down my engine and clean it. how do i go about doing it safely without causing any damage to the engine?

 

Normally I just take it to a spray car wash, buy some engine degreaser from Autozone. Cover your intake inlet if your stock or your air filter on an aftermarket intake with some plastic grocery bags and i cover up and exposed wiring just to be safe. Oh and as I learned if you got HID's cover your ballasts. But normally you spray it on let it sit for a few minutes and then power spray it and your set. Maybe some scrubbing for those really dirty spots.
