Default Machine buffing issue

I'm trying to polish my car using a high speed buffer and even at low speeds the polish I'm using keeps drying quickly. I'm using Griots Machine Polishes so I'm sure it's me and not the product. lol

Any help would be appreciated.

What pad are you using? If you're not using an adequete cutting pad for the clear coats conditions, this can happen.

Spread the product evenly and heat it evenly. Some paints, especially water based, tend to have the product "stick" to the clearcoat even at moderate RPM's.

But Honda doesn't use this, so my guess will be that you need to go with a more aggressive pad, or your technique is incorrect.

I know this may sound stupid, but are you doing it in the direct sunlight? Polishes and like products are meant to be applied in shade. It is near impossible to use a cutting polish or compound and break down the minerals/chemicals if it is the direct sunlight because it dries too quickly.

If you are working in the sun that is most likely the problem. Some products are very particular to what conditions they like to work in.

What type of polishes are you using?

Ahh yea the poorboys sealant was the one I saw. All of my menzerna products are garbage in the sunlight.

yeah, menzerna is useless in direct sunlight, but when used in the correct place it is awesome.

I figured it out today.......turns out I was using the wrong kind of pad. I went and got a pad with more cut and it seemed to help out alot. That and I just mist some water on the pad every once in awhile.
