the two ways i've had experience with is a heat gun and dry ice. to get it all out, depending on how old the stuff is, you'll probably have to use both methods. heat gun is kinda obvious. you heat the stuff up and scrape it off. for dry ice (you should be able to get it at grocery stores) you let the dry ice sit on the S.D material for a little while and then use a mallet or hammer to pound on material to break it up after it's frozen. just be careful not to use TOO much force when you're breaking it up or you'll dent something. also, dry ice is VERY VERY cold, so it's a good idea to wear gloves while handling it so you don't get freezer burn.

If you do it right, you end up with nice piles like this:

i removed all of mine with a heat gun and a scraper. the tar is all inside the trunk of your car and under your carpet. But if you dont have a race car i dont think its worth the trouble. I wouldnt do it again

thats because you did it wrong. Use dry ice and it will take an hour. leave it on until it all pops and you can break it off with your hands. I use a putty knife to get under it and pry up, not to scrape. Use deadblow hammer to knock it loose too.

All u need is a hammer paint scraper and patience. first u cut the tar patch u are working on in a pie configureation. then star at the edge of the tar and hammer the paint scrapper under it like your going to flip a pan cake and it comes up with no problems. NOTE do this in a shaded area and dont do it on a car that has been in the sun for a long wile u want the tar cold or at room temp
