just a little update,

I found 6 NOS air filters from a guy who's father owned a dealership that closed down years ago.

I had a 2nd huge batch of parts re-plated. very happy with the results!! plus have some extras to sell to cover costs.

Im rebuilding the original horn assembly. The one on the left was for reference to help me re assemble the rebuilt one. Pretty amazing what some sandblasting, paint and freshly plated parts will do. The one on the right was almost as dirty as the one on the left before the rebuild.

Heres some pictures of a coil I rebuilt. I posted a "how to" on this page HERE for another member who asked how to rebuild them.

If anyone is interested I can rebuild one for them or sell them a fully rebuilt one.

If you're gonna try it yourself feel free to ask any questions

Currently my friend Miles is doing a complete rebuild and refurbish of my original carb. will look and run like new when completed.

This is a precise skill set that I just don't have yet so I had to farm it out to the expert.

Ive been having trouble getting the car up to a speed of more than 60mph so I figured it was time for a rebuild . when he took it apart he said it was so filthy that he doesn't know how it ran. Hopefully now ill be able to cruise at 65 without issue!

Heres some photos of the before and during process.

Ill post some finished photos when completed.

I pulled the gas tank yesterday so i could drop it off and have it acid dipped.

After having the carb completely rebuilt i didn't wanna have any rusty gas clog it back up so i pulled the tank. Sure glad i did it was pretty nasty inside

Here are some photos of the inside of it. Lots of rust deposits

Here are some pictures of the gas tank after being cleaned out and acid dipped. its now at the powder coater having the outside of the tank re-sprayed black.

ill seal the inside when done and then back into the car for some spring and summer driving.

I had some z600 hood bumpers and hood prop holders made. they turned out great and are identical to OEM. if any other 600 owners need some let me know.

i got back the first reproduction carpet set I'm having made.

Here are some photos. The carpet features the exact same stitching around the edges as original and the same 80/20 loop carpet material as original.

I made 2 center sections to see how the seams would look both ways. not sure which i like more just yet. ill have to test fit it and decide then.

First car show is May 22nd. I still need to install the gas tank, clean all the fuel lines out, pull all the tires off the wheels and have the wheels sanblasted and powered coated due to corrosion on the bead, and install new carpet hopefully.

Alot of work to get done in the span of about 3 days, which is all the prep time ill have due to my job keeping me away from home for months at a time.

Ill post pictures.

Just an update, got the gas tank installed and tuned up the car. I adjusted the points again and worked with the new carb a bunch to get a nice smooth idle. The car is running great, probably the best ever. Hits 65mph no problem on the free way and even topped out around 75mph the other day.

Ive also installed the new carpet set I had made and also a new cam housing gasket that was a sample from the production run I'm having produced.

Wheels are at the powder coater and will be back next week. Can't wait to have some nice fresh wheels on the car with no rust on the insides!

Also heres a picture of Aggie.

wow! Sounds like you got the tune down. If you can hit 75 mph even after a long pull it must be running great. It takes some fiddling to get it just right. Nice carpet. Looks like new!

Recently had my drivers seat fixed by a local upholstery shop that did an amazing job replacing the 2 ripped panels. they matched the vinyl perfectly and you can't even tell anything was ever replaced.

I also went to a car show and someone took these photos and posted them online on another forum so i snagged them and re-posted here.

Currently working on cleaning up the gauges, i pulled them to fix something and it turns out a rodent was living in there while the car was parked for 30 years. i found lots of chewed up insulation and carpet padding along with an acorn. looks like the rodent also peed on the gauges causing them to rust severely on the casings so I'm rebuilding them now.

It still has the small dent in the hood and fender it's just on the drivers side. The person who took the photo just did a great job of masking it with the angle. I've had the car buffed and polished a few times so it does shine like new but unfortunately there is still that one small ding. Most of the time it's not noticeable because the hood is up at car shows though. I'm taking the car to dent wizards next week to let them have it for a few days to pull all the small dings out. Should look even better soon.

Not a whole lot is new. I had the car detailed and all the dents removed by a painless dent removal company. They did an amazing job!

A friend of mine got me this cool plasma cut metal cutout of my car. totally cool gift.

i also just bought another full parts car. no idea what ill do with it yet.

Im starting the process of building a new bottom end for the car because of the rod knock currently present. Due to time constraints ill most likely send a complete used bottom end from one of my parts cars to a friend of mine and have him do the bottom end re-build then ill finish the top end using whats currently in the car that was rebuild last spring (2012). So hopefully by the time spring 2014 rolls around ill be back up and running and not worried about if the engine is gonna explode.

Heres some recent photos

That's one great looking little Z! Love that color. I know where I can get duplicate front side-markers then too - same same as my S800. Neko.

i found a set of NOS OEM Honda 600 shocks online that I'm gonna install and take off some reproduction ones.

I've had some knocking coming from the rear suspension and its been bugging me really bad. it turns out the reproduction ones have a metal sleeve in the bottom bushing and the OEM ones are just rubber sleeved. this should fix my problem.
