Default Are split axle boots ok to use

Hi,

i have an 88 accord HB. not sure if this is the correct forum for this but i dont see another for my year.

my question is: my axle boots are cracked and need replacement. because the car has over 300k and it looks like the clutch doesnt have much life and the steering rack is leaking and needs replacement and it is time for a timing belt so i dont want to invest too much but would like to keep it going as long as possible. i was thinking of trying to use the split boot replacement. wondering if that is ok and any drawbacks.

thank you, dj

Used one on my old civic it was okay for temperary use. It still spashed axle grease all over the underside, and it was a bitch to install
