Default CV Boot or Axle replacement question....

I have a 98' Honda Accord LX 4 banger and it was lowered 1.5 inches....I found out that both left and right front boots are gone as grease is everywhere on my new rims.

What do I do here? Get boots, split boots or the whole axle assemble. Thanks for any input guys. I live in Texas

depends on how long the boots have been broken. Change the boots if the boots were broken not long ago and that your axles doesn't make any weird sound or vibration.

Beware that cv boot job is very messy and time consuming. 80 percent of the total time will be cleaning cv joints. :/

I agree with above. If too much dirt hasn't gotten into the axle, just buy some new boots and repack them. You're other option is to get a new set of axles. You can get some remanufactured ones or new ones that each come with lifetime warranties.

However, I would not recommend a split boot unless it's only temporary. I've seen split boots fail only after a couple months of use.

if cv joints are still good, make sure u choose to change the boot. Axles at 100k is still better than autozone axles IMO. Autozone LT warranty means **** if they keep on going out on you.
