d16a1 swap into 86 si
can someone help me and tell me how hard it would be to swap my stock d15 with a d16a1 my 86 si is fuel injected with a cable clutch thats all i know about it and what are some of the advanteges to puttin the dohc d16a1 instead of keeping my stock motor

1. you need the 86-87 D16A1 engine with the vacuum advance ignition - the 88-89 D16A1 with electronic ignition advance can be used with a bunch more wiring and using the 88-89 PG7 ECU
2. you need 86-89 Integra transmission, intermediate shaft, axles, knuckles/hubs and shift linkage
3. use the Si mounts on the rear and drivers side end and use the Integra mount for the front of the transmission
4. use the Si engine harness, which plugs right into everything
5. use the 86-87 (not 88-89) Integra PG7 ECU - plugs right in
a lot of work for a minimal gain in horsepower

how hard it is kinda depends on if you know what youre doin...it would be harder for me just cuz i havent done just kinda helped out some. how much it costs just depends on what parts you get. you can get ebay stuff for cheaper or pay more for "better" brands. you just have to decide your budget and do research to figure out what you want.
