Default charging..

question about my rex. its an 86, and i replaced the alternator, and its still only charging at 12 volts and 30 amps. the voltage regulator is built into the alternator, so im not sure what else to check. its a new battery, and new terminals and wires and all that. so im thinking its a little resistor box thing that sits next to my coil. does anyone know what i mean? like, im kinda stumped

That's happened a few times to me, and still they were bad. The machines definitely can give false positives.
