87 civic swap questions
I don't know crap about the 3rd gens, but maybe someone does... hopefully.
I've got a buddy who just picked up an 87 DX and we were looking at the engine which is a D15A and were thinking maybe the spare D15B I've got at my house would fit in there. Looking at the mounts the D15b has bosses for the bolts already. Has anyone done this or can anyone point in the right direction. I'm just curious if we'd have to fab new mounts or will the 87s work.
Also will an 88-91 tranny bolt into the car?
Any help is appreciated.

there is alot of work trying to swap a d in there. The car is carbed and the gas tank has to be modified to get a electric pump in there or an external one. There is also alot of wiring. the easiest swap for that car is the 86-87 integra engine and trans. the one with the vacuum advance distributor. but you still have to get the fuel pump stuff.

Re: 87 civic swap questions (Ahknodd)
If the 3rd gen civic and 1st gen CRX have the same engine bay/design like the 4th gen civic/2nd gen CRX, then here is some good reading material on 1st gen CRX swaps, assuming that the same applies for 3rd gen civics (please correct if wrong):
