http://www.redpepperracing.com/forums/index.php

Look under [FAQ/Wiki] --> [Engine Swaps]

There is also a [Swaps] section in the [Technical] forum.

yes you can put a h22a in a crx ,but your going to have someone make mounts, and custom axles shitfer linkage and i'm sure cleance issues and wireing

go with the b16 ,and have about 3000 in cash for the engine ,mounts ,and axles
maybe even more then that ....
wireing is another issue lol

i have a question for you though ,are you young ? i bought a firstgen because of how cheap it was and really didn't know what i was getting myself into % years later and ive spent 1000's and i havent even started to swap yet lol

is yours carbed or FI ?

i'm not trying to be a dick ,just seriously its exspensive ...

check out http://www.redpepperracing.com everything you need to know about firstgen on there

lol yeah im 20.....i know it's gonna be alot of money....i was looking to put about 5-6 g's into the engine.....and 4 into fixing the body and whatever things i need to have done to get it saftied......thing is i already have the money....more or less just doing the research on the engines i can put ino the car and what potinetal the engines will have to make power.....my honest goal is try to get a engine thats about 250-350 hp....to be honest.....but i don't really know much about honda engines.....more about V8's lol....and the biggest reason i wanted the 86 CRX was for the lightweight it has.....plus i love the body line of them compared to the 88-91 and it was a red one i got from a guy out in headingley.....if you can help me with this let me know help is much needed

thats cool sure i can help ... i don't live in winnipeg though ,so .....most likely wont be hands on lol i'm 3 hours away hehe i can help you with rust repair if you drive down to my place check out my priject page ....https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1981590 i'm sure i can handle what ever rust you have

honestly i would go with the b16 ...160 horse power to start ,mounts, axles and harness conversions are avalible to buy ,H22,kseries,newer D's mounts are not IIRC

hasport stuff is

mounts are599 US plus shipping
axles are 350 US plus shipping
you have to mod your shifter linkage ,they don't sell it any more !
not to sure on the price of a conversion harness
if you not Fi you have to buy a Si harness and send it off to Rywire or do it your self

there is allso another company that sells mounts for a bit cheaper like 300 i think ,but from what read ,they don't line up well
its a bit of work ,but in the end ....

are you a member on winnipeg heights ? if not join and i'm sure someone will be down to help you out ,if you need a hand in anyway ....i'm on there ,my name is mooberry

well good luck, don't give up ! and if you do hit me up and i'll buy the car off you .....

mitch

250whp is possible out of a very expensive build. 350whp? Maybe. You would be pushing it though for even a all motor race B series running in the low 10's or high 9's.

With a mildly modified B16 I am running 13.0's. With a built 2.0, you would be in the high 11's quarter mile times and 220whp reliably.

Don't underestimate the power to weight ratio these little cars have. And don't over estimate the expected power you want. 350 is darn near impossible unless you hire a professional race engine builder and that wont be in your budget.

If you want easy, convert to OBD1 and run a B18C5 type R engine. With cams, a proper header and tuning, you will be low 12's and very very reliable.

For a DD, don't use ITB's. Not worth the hassle IMO.
