1984 Prelude Honda and 1985 Accord Honda Tranmissioin Interchangable?
We have a 1985 Accord Honda which tranmission just went out but we also have a 1984 Prelude Honda which engine went out and we parked it for almost 15 years.
So we were wondering if we can take the tranny out out the 1984 Prelude and put it in the 1985 Accord.
Thank you
Bill

Why yes you can. I had one in my 84 Accord for a long time. Just so long as neither car is fuel injected, you're good to go. I recommend filling it with Honda MTF for a longer life.

No problem. That transmission is a bit shorter ratio. It makes the car a whole lot more fun to drive, but does bring the freeway RPMs up quite a bit. Didn't really do anything to my gas mileage though, since I think the engine doesn't have to work as hard in 5th gear.
