Default your thoughts on siren problems.

i put a new alarmin my hatch today and i used the automate am-5. just a basic alarm,
but being as my car doesnt have a horn anymore, i purchased a mechanical siren to use with it.(since the am5 doesnt come with a siren)

anyone familiar with these mechanical sirens knows that they are loud as hell, and take a few seconds to wind up..

now heres is my problem, when the alarm is going off, no siren.. there is a strong ground and my power connection is leading to the 12v siren output but when the alarm is being trigged i test that lead and i am getting no power coming off of the alarm, if i redo my connection the siren might work for a few test cycles but then does not again,

the thing that is getting me is why im not showing power most of the time off of the srien output on the alarm. im not sure if the problem lies in the mechanical siren wanting more current than the lead can produce, or there is another issue with the brain of the alarm..

any thoughts? tomorrow i will try a standard siren and possibly wire in a rely on the srien lead to make more power.

The mechanical sirens need way more current. You will need to use a 30 Amp relay. Ground #85, hook up your siren wire out of your alarm to #86, #30 will go to 12 Volts, and #87 to your mechanical siren +.
