wiring?
i went to put an alpine cd playing into my 94 civic dx hatch and when i connected all the matching wires up the cd player it wouldn't turn on. When i connect both the yellow and red wire coming from the cd player to the red wire coming from the car, the cd player works, but if i do it the "right" way it doesn't. any ideas?

Re: wiring? (eskerley)
so you hooked up the wires color for color so I'll assume that you have a harness.
check the back up fuse in the engine compartment or the radio fuse under the driver dash and see if it is blown.

Did you cut the factory plug? If so you cant wire the radio harness to the car harness by color to color. If its the plug and play the check fuses......

check to make sure that you have power to both wires when the key is on. you are not geting power from one of the wires thats why it only works when they are together.

Your problem is with the accessory turn on. Test the radio fuse that is in the fusebox under the dash and the back up fuse that is in the fusebox in the engine bay. Also test the fuse on the actual radio.
