Wiring
This is a real dumb questions, but in my experience no question is dumb unless you dont ask it, so here it goes....
What would happen if you miswire a speaker? Meaning, instead of wiring them + to +, - to -; you wire them + to - and - to +??
Thanks for the help guys!

nothign really....it would be mechanically out of phase with the rest of the system.
If you have studdied trigonometry, take a sine wave and add 180 degrees to it....you will see that they are mirrored copies of eachother around the x-axis.
You would be doing the same thing to your speaker.
Typically when a speaker is out of phase, it creates a very diffused sound and you get bass cancellation and a few other wacky things. But it doesn't hurt the speaker/amp and it can actually make your system sound better (I've never had a system where everything is wired perfectly in phase).

Thanks for the help guys!</TD></TR></TABLE> Nothing, if both left and right speakers are done the same way if only one of them is wired "backwords" the speakers would be out of phase with each other, and you would get very poor bass out of them when both were playing but balance over to the left or right and the bass would be better.
